We are needing a cable motor that runs continuously at variable speed. The live load of the system will be no more than 250 lbs. It will also need to run in a 20' radius around a circle.

Our thoughts are to get a C channel bent to a 20' radius and have wheel trolleys inside the C Channel that are capable of moving in a radius. The cable trolleys will be attached to the cable drive. Items will hang from the track and will move in a continuous circle.

Does anyone have a recommendation on the motor drive for this system? Also, any thoughts on the trolley spacing in the radius to prevent cable friction? Again, the system needs to be light as this will handle less than 250 lbs.

A sketch illustrating the mechanism would go a long way toward getting better suggestions.
