Hi,
I am looking for design resources on balanced spool (poppet style) type valves. I have found several MSS standards that I believe may apply - however, I can't find a free version online and it's unlikely that I'll be able to purchase the standards as part of this project. There seems to be many many resources available on valve sizing and selection but no information about the particular type of valve that I'm interested in.
My particular questions at this time involve how hard should the shaft be to reduce wear and ensure long lasting reliable function and what fit and tolerance is required for an acceptable seal.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Regards,
David
