Hi Everybody

I need to do a topology optimization on a card board box which is an orthotropic material , but Since the homogenization theory can be applied on composite materials , I would like to know , first how is it done for an orthotropic material , and the mid layer should be an isotropic material instead of corrugated ?
and which analysis results are valid for the new material that can be used for the main material , I mean FEM analysis and optimization and so ..

thank you very much

for more clarification , if I simplify a corrugated board into a composite thick shell , and do a topology optimization on it , is there a way to interpret and say how is the shape for the corrugated board , the base shape ? or each topology optimization can be done on the apropriate material ? I think this is possible for free shape optimization cause it only changes the thickness ,but I need to do more

please be kind to share your information , any that could help me , also from theoretical

thank you so much

Is the intent to optimise the core? If so you probably want to model the core in some detail.
