Vacuum Generator/Pump

Hey,

I'm currently building a robot for my school. The robot is going to pick up poker chips and sort them. So I need a vacuum generator to do the pick up. The issue I'm running into is that we don't have compressed air to use and we want it to be a quite system (so venturi is out). We also don't have a ton of funding so I can't use anything too insanely expensive, any suggestions on pumps or systems that would work for me?

something like 4 syringes (medical ones??) actuated by a motor against inlet valve closed to generate vacuum. The valve is open when the robot arm picks up the poker chips. So some sort of synchronization is needed. When the poker chips is released, syringes piston closes while valve is open. Then operation is repeated.
