dear all,

I am trying to get an undestanding of engineering approaches here. We have a boiler which is not vacuum rated but currently does not have a vacuum breaker. The procedure is to open a vent when the pressure drops near atm pressure. This boiler is cycled up and down every week while a waste heat boiler is turned up/down.

Should we invest in a vacuum breaker ?
or are those a bad device the spirax sarco web site seems to suggest they are common.. (on boilers that are not vacuum rated..)

is this true
