v5 spline function vs v4

Hi there,

In v4, you can make a spline over a string of points, and then hit 'yes' to incrementally change the degree of the curve, and smooth it out by allowing slight departure from the points.

I can't find an equivalent function in V5, but I need it. Any ideas?
