When we upgraded to version 17 at my company, I noticed that in assemblies now, flashfit is the default command when I place a part into an assembly.
I don't necessarily have a problem with flashfit, and I am sure that if I gave it a chance it *could* potentially reduce some steps in my assemblies, but it is just slow.
I work with rather large assemblies and I have to work fairly quickly. So I either have to constantly switch over to a mate relationship which would normally be the most common relationship I would use, or I would be cornered into giving flashfit a chance, which I have.
The reason I dislike it is because it uses animation to show you one part going to the part its establishing relationships.. Granted it looks cool, but when I have to do so many parts, it takes way too much time.. I know what I want to do long before I drag the part in and don't need a program to think for me. When you do a mate or any other relationship, it snaps right to it and you move on to the next relationship. And I can't just use capture fit for every situation to avoid it, because a lot of parts go into places under different circumstances in different places.
I am sorry if that sounds like a rant, I was trying not to
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make flash fit not the default command. I tried just making keyboard shortcuts for the different relationship commands, but that solved some problems and created others. When I use the keyboard shortcuts it takes focus off the part I was establishing relationships for.. which again, is not a problem, its just more time consuming. I think part of it is due to some frustrating bugs with it.. But I am at a loss, because while I noticed so many improvements, it has become much more tedious for me to do my job with it..
I know it must seem like nitpicking, but I have to use it so much.. its driving me nuts heh.
