212197, I am reading "If a fillet weld is used in conjunction with a groove weld, the nominal thickness is the depth of the groove or the throat dimension, whichever is greater." So wouldn't soak time be based on t1 + t2, 24mm?
Regards,
Mike
The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
That is what not clear to me. In the figure there are 2 grooves. First is between reinforcement pad & nozzle. Second is between dished end & nozzle. To decide the soaking time of post weld heat treatment, weld thickness is to be derived. So I have doubt should I consider only one groove i.e. 12 mm or should I consider 2 grooves (first+ second) i.e. 24 mm.
