We have a steel underground tank that will be undergoing modification. It is an atmospheric pressure tank. Is a hydro test required before returning it to service? Thanks, BarryPhila
What code?
A hydrotest is probably not a bad idea, the pressure on the bottom of a liquid filled tank could be much more than atmospheric, even if the tank was only operating at "atmospheric pressure" on top of the liquid surface.
