Using Create Animation tool

I haven't yet studied the High Quality Image Animation tool and is quite in the dark about it's capabilities. Can it be used to animate assembly motion? Is there a simple tutorial which can help me to start with it?

Note: The question is specifically about the High Quality Image Animation tool, not Asembly Sequence animation functionality.

In a word, yes.

There are some fairly simple explanations of what it can do in the NX docs at:

The coolest capability here (and the thing that you'll need to animate assemblies) is the "FrameNumber" expression. Basically, each frame of the animation will have a frame number, starting with zero and ending at the number of frames you have in your movie. (Some frame rate per second, times the numebr of seconds, of course.) As NX generates each frame of the animation, you can have NX update any and everything that is tied to an expression called "FrameNumber". You can use this to do geometric morphing by changing modeling feature expressions, or animate assemblies by changing assembly constraint expressions, or anything else you can dream up that is controlled by expressions. Super-flexible, and super-handy. If you use this, make sure you check on the "Update Expressions" toggle as you create your animation.
