Hi there. I have a 3/4HP pump and 1 HP vfd drive. The speed, frequency, and voltage on the nameplates match. I don't see a problem using a slightly oversized vfd. Am i overlooking anything?

Just set the appropriate limits to protect the motor and it should be fine.

I second that. There is a parameter that you must set to tell the VFD what size motor you have. Find it. understand it. set it, and it will be fine. Sometimes there are more than one. Usually you have no problem with drives up to about twice the needed size, where that parameter(s) you set may start bottoming out in choice.
