Hello,

i´ve a question about FEA. I designed an upright for a virtual car. I want to check if that upright is big/stiff enough, but i´m not sure if my FEM model is correct.

The bearing cup I fix in all 6 DOF on these two surfaces you can see in the picture.

The forces I applied at the holes on top and bottom with there X,Y,Z components.

This that correct or is there another better way to do that.

I know there missing things like Brake and Steer bracket but the picture are just for showing the Basic Problem.

It seems ok to me..
Also go the other way around.
I mean put constraints on the holes and put forces at the bearings.

ok, Thank you for your answer. I will do this the other way round, too.

Are they other prof. methodes to calculate an Upright?
