I'm trying to make a section view but I'm getting this window that comes up and it won't drop the view. It will however let me do a projected view. But what I need is a section view. Any ideas of whats happening here? I've attached the window.

Try place the cut a very small distance to the side of where you desire the section to see if there is geometrical difficulties.
( i.e instead of exactly thru an arc center, cut a millimeter on the side of the center.)
Parasolid is getting better on handling so called "non manifold conditions", but there still are situations that give this message.

Is any of your model imported ?
If it is, run Examine Geometry and verify that there are no errors.

( Run Examine Geometry even if no parts are imported, it is possible to create rotten geometry in NX too... :-)

Is it a section of an assembly or part? If it is of a part, extrude a huge cyclinder that covers the entire part then update your drawing. Will the part section? If so start moving this cylinder extrude back until the part will not section then fix the area that will not section. I had this same issue a couple days ago. Examine geometry did not highlight the issue I found with the part.

If it is an assembly suprress parts until the section works.

I wish this error was a little bit more descriptive. But it is not.

This is a part file I made from a stp. I didn't import it, I just opened up the stp and saved it as a part file. I ran the Examine Geometry tool and it did highlight a few things but I don't know what it all means. I've attached a screen shot if you want to take a look and let me know your thoughts.
