Greetings,
I'm looking for a source for a ball valve (class 150 flanged, metal body, pTFE seats) with an unusual shaped ball. Instead of being a constant diameter sphere, the ball has two recessed circular areas located 90 degreees to the ball bore.
In the closed position - the exposed upstream and downstream surface of the ball has a slightly smaller spherical diameter than the rest of the ball. I think one purported benefit was reduced operating torque because of less contact area between the ball and seats while being rotated.
I saw this design some years ago. Just can't recall the manufacturer. Any help would be appreciated,
