I'm evaluating strength of a union nut, using the following loading:
Dimensions are in inches, axial load is about 4,200 lbf. Threads in the nut range from 1 1/2 unc to 2 unc. I can take care of the tension and shear. I'd like a little guidance on the moment - I don't believe we'll have a moment load in this nut where I indicated. Please provide opinions.
