unigraphics start up

I just installed UGNX2 on my computer. I open up a new drawing and the normal black screen does not appear. Instead the background is my desktop. When I open a command box and then close it the box remains on the screen even though it is closed. I can't really explain it better than that. I had the problem once before when installing it on the past computer, however it has been sometime so I cannot recall how to fix it. Any ideas?
