I am looking at a tunnel underneath a 3-story classroom building. Want to do a quick structural analysis on the tunnel, which is aluminum. Is there some way to estimate the surcharge from this building? I saw a number of 250 psf for r/c building per story mentioned in a post related to retaining wall design, but can't verify where the number comes from.
Could somebody help?
