Good day!

I just like to ask based on your expertise what underfloor plenum design scheme suits well.

Our intent was to provide an underfloor plenum on our seating. However our concern with all the ductwork is that air throttling/balancing will be required in all of the branches. This may cause turbulent noise which we want to avoid since the AHU's is within the building/area envelope.

Having this problem made us want to switch to large and pressurized underfloor plenum with floor diffusers on the slabs. However our concern was if the area is not occupied, we might encounter condensation due to the change in temperature. Not to mention the odor it will generate. Option is to put the AHU's on low speed to avoid condensation.

Do the ASHRAE Handbooks have anything to say?
