If a company has a UL approved certification for a product,(Tested under UL 1008M standard) and it reference UL 414 for part of the UL 1008M testing requirements. Does this mean it met the UL 414 requirement also?

Thanks,

Tim

Generally speaking, yes. Often, the simplest path to certification is using components already listed to build a product.

The requirements of UL 1008M and the requirements of UL 414 that are referenced in UL 1008M must both be met for a listed meter mounted transfer switch.

Note, many utilities do not permit these to be used. My local utility does not and one of their objections is the neutral jumper that must be connected in their meter socket. Their approved meter sockets do not have an available termination point for the neutral jumper.
