Hi everyone,

I am working on a lithography mask of microchannel (100 micron width) using NX. I am trying to print out the channel with black background in PDF format. I changed the background into black colour but it does not change anything. Any export format other than PDF does not provide the accuracy i needed for lithography mask printing. Any suggestion?

Try this...

Open up PAINT included with windows. Select the bucket tool & paint the entire document black. Save it as a jpg. In NX, import the black image and scale it up to the size you need. Export the PDF (with the option selected to "Export raster images in drawing" checked)

This should give you the desired effect. Either that or open the PDF in Adobe illustrator and create a black background.

After exporting the pdf, in Adobe reader you can go to Edit -> Preferences -> Accessibility to edit the background color. Would this give you what you need?

Hi,

@ingallspw: i exported the black-painted image in tif format as raster image, then exported it as pdf with raster image. However, The background does not appear as black colour but just a box enclosing the channels.

@cowski: changing the background in PDF preferences just turn everything into black colour.

What I was saying is done all inside NX.

In Drafting, Click on Insert > Image > OPEN >
Then resize the image to fill the background.
Middle Click (You should then be able to select the components and edit dimensions and the background will stay)
Click File > Export > PDF
Expand "Settings" and make sure Export Raster Images in Drawing is checked.
Hit OK. The PDF should have the background now.

Hi,

I got the black background but it cover the whole drawing in black. I tried change the layer setting but it does not work.

It appears that (at least NX7.5's drafting mode) it puts all the images behind the text and dimensions. You'll need to make all your dimensions white by right clicking and select edit display. Then print colors "As displayed" in the PDF export.
