Hi I am new here and I need Some help
I asking about UBC97 seismic loading
is there is something in this code says when you must use Equivalent static method or response spectrum
can some one help
 
The attached link is a handout for a class that discusses the UBC 97 seismic design. page 14 states

"Code Analysis Procedures
UBC--97 and IBC--2000
– Equivalent static analysis approach
– Response spectrum approach
– Response (Time) history approach
– Other (Peer review)"

thanks any way this is not what I mean...
It is stated in UBC97 in 1629.8 Selection of lateral force procedure
but I need to know the same for IBC2006
Help PLZ.
