Hello everyone,

Could you please tell me what value I should consider as the Response Modification Coefficient (R) -as described in ASCE 7- for a system consisting of U-boot slab (crate type concrete voided slab)as the flooring system, shear walls and columns (that are not necessarily in the same axes)?

Many thanks

The seismic force resisting system is determined by the vertical elements. The floor/slab type does not determine the selection.

That's right. Are the columns creating a simple frame? If so, we should consider the connection type of "pinned" at the connection point of slab and columns (and shear walls), right?
