In addition to what GenB said, which was first rate, turbulators add pressure drop downstream of your furnace tube. This could affect your furnace side pressure, and back your burner fan up on its curve, disturbing your fuel air ratio. If additional pressure in your furnace/back pass area is not a problem, you might still have to do some re-tuning on your combustion controls.
Other than that they do add turbulence, and thus enhance heat transfer. Many boilers of your style have them.
