I am looking for the North American Equivalent to the above Toyota Steel Spec. Would SAE 1038 qualify. Thanks
 
Unfortunately I do not have access this particular Toyota standard, so I can only offer some anecdotal info: I think the composition is similar to 1038, but the microstructure and mechanical properties are requirements, and there might be a microalloy addition as well (V, Ti).
