Triptronic controler for ZF 5HP18 gearbox

I require information on electronically controlled automatic gearboxes, in particular the ZF 5HP18 gearbox. I am going to be using this gearbox in a racing car and need to develop a triptronic style controller for the gearbox. I would like to know the typical time sequence and time delays when changing from one gear to the next.
I intend using a PIC or a Motorola chip.
