This seems to be a "new" development (if proven otherwise!).
Heavy siltation in port (11 berths for merchant vessels, each at least 300 feet LOA)
Especially under "open" wharf structure (Joined T-jetty model) with pilons.
Slope 1:4 average. Current can attain velocity of 4 - 6 kts. (Semi-diurnal)
Trench to be 20 meters wide. 2 meters under bed-level. To restrict superfluous dredging exercise.
Length: approx. 3 miles, parallel and close to wharves and along river-direction to sea.
This pilon structure acts as siltation trap, which we would like to "divert".
Anyone with experience or done trial on this trenching?
Appreciate feed-back.
