Hi!!
Here, I modelled my structure with shell elements S3 and S4.
For the validity of the study I must use a UMAT.
When I carry out calculation, abaqus writes to me in the .dat:
***WARNING: TRANSVERSE SHEAR STIFFNESSES ARE NOT DEFINED FOR THIS USER DEFINED
MATERIAL(UMAT): LAYER=1. SOME SHELL ELEMENTS REQUIRE TRANSVERSE
SHEAR STIFFNESS
and then
***ERROR: TRANSVERSE SHEAR STIFFNESS OF SHELL SECTION IS ZERO FOR ELEMENT 1
for each elements and the he stops the analysis.
I read on the online help hat when one wants to use a umat with shell elements. He had to use *TRANSVERSE SHEAR STIFFNESS and to give Kts11,Kts22, and Kts12 in this card.
How can I recover these coefficients, with a preceding analysis which does not call upon the umat?
thank you
