Transition from UG NX to Solid Edge? 2

I am curious how difficult it would be for me to move from a job where I use NX frequently (and feel comfortable with it), to one where i'd use Solid Edge?

Solid Edge has a completely different look and feel.

But, you are already familiar with solid modeling, so it's really just a matter of how quick you can learn the interface of a new software. The same techniques for robust modeling still apply, as does the difficulty in file management between parts, assemblies, and drawings.

I think the biggest difficulty you would experience is the difference in available public support: eng-tips, bbsnotes, & user groups to name a few. The other challenge is that SE changed its UI at the same time it introduced Synch Tech. Synch Tech implementation in SE is vastly different than in NX and SE is currently still going through some significant growing pains with the new UI and Synch Tech.

The last CAD change I made was from NX to Solid Edge.

Like Scott said, you will usually know what you want to do - the hard part is finding the UI to do it. Having said that, my easiest transition from being full time on one CAD system to full time on another CAD system was going NX to Solid Edge.
