Hi,
I made a bipedal robot in Pro E and I want to know how to measure the
torque experienced by the right hip joint. The torque should include the
effect of the weight and angular position of the shank. I also want to set the
initial torque to zero. (If you want to have an idea of the mechanism, I would
be more than willing to email my design to you.) Can you help me with this?

This can be done easily in pro/mechanisms. You need to run a dynamic analysis and set the measure as Axial Moment under connection reaction type. The output would be a Torque Vs Time graph. Please note that you need to turn on the gravity effects and set acceleration due to gravity in the coorect direction.
