torque detector application

Besides the use of torque detectors for hydraullic wheel, do you know anything about its use for fuelling control?

I learnt something about torque control for hybrid cars..Did you?

What are the features of such torque detectors, that is, the way they are integrated to the control module, their size, their normal/max torque, costs, suppliers, whose car manufacturers are employing such solution...?
