Time period for Dynamic explicit analysis

I am simulating the impact of a projectile on an aluminum plate.

When I select automatic time increment, my model runs well but when I reduce time increment, my model shows excessive distortion error.

cs are attached for analysis. Can you please advise me accordingly?

It’s recommended to use automatic incrementation, unless you need full control over the analysis for some reason.

If you want to speed up the explicit simulation, consider using mass scaling.
