Since you will need to prebore the rock socket, you could always cut notches into the tip of the timber pile to improve uplift resistance, if needed. May 16, 2007 Thread starter #3 kh101 Marine/Ocean May 16, 2007 2 Thanks Jeff - good lead. The socket is for a relatively small wharf / pier structure with shallow bedrock, which needs some uplift capacity due to lateral loads resisted by batter piles. Upvote 0 Downvote
