Hello all, This is my first thread but I have found this place to be a very helpful tool many times before.
My problem is that I have a line of 1" socketweld pipe. I need to put a 1/2" threaded thermowell in that line. I have searced HI and Low for some sort of SW X NPT insert but to no avail. I have thought about machining couplings down but was wondering if anybody had a easier/cheaper idea.
Thank you.

It will in be 1"XH pipe SA-106B & SA-105 nothing fancy there. The thermowell is S.S.

Can you not buttweld on a 1/2" NPT threaded saddle (half coupling)?

Why not just use a sw-tee and a sw x thr'd red. bushing? That way can use the tee connection as an elbow fitting if you have a long lgth. well or as a regular tee it it's short. I'd also sealweld the threads after inserting it.
