I am making a drawing that calls for .750-40UNS thread. I would like to know what specification should I be referring to. I have looked at AS8879 and MS7742...this size is not listed.
 
Thanx. I looked in the document but since I didn't find the appropriate thread size in any tables, I thought there was no provision for my thread size. There is in fact coverage in the notes area. Thanx again
 
I would add a referenct to the thread callout to the note were the thread is further defined.

I would suggest ASME B1.1-2003 UNIFIED INCH THREADS is the most appropriate place to look.

There are some fairly detailed requirements on how UNS (S is generally interpreted as special i.e. custom/non standard) threads are to be specified. Fortunately this has come up before: faq404-1480
