What is the best book on trusses, that has the answers to the problems? I have the small "Simplified Design of Roof Trusses for Architects and Builders", by Parker, 2nd edition, 1941, 1953; which I like, but it does not have the answers to the problems.

Are you talking trusses of a specific material or general truss analysis?
For general truss analysis, a good structural analysis text will have what you need.

I was not aware there were truss books on different materials. I thot the mechanics of truss analysis would be true no matter what material a designer was using.
For general truss analysis, would you have a recommendation for a good structural analysis text (with answers)? Thx.

Wood or steel are quite different!!

The forces may be the same - but how you handle them can be quite different.

@Paddingtongreen,
How do you download the book? I don't see that option in the link you provided.

Hover over the "EBOOK-FREE" button and a drop down menu will appear with the option of downloading a pdf.

I happened to notice in the Structural Engineers' Handbook, p496, it shows for deformed structural billet steel rebar the ULTIMATE strength to be ~60,000 psi.
If you look up Grade 60 rebar in current data, it shows the YIELD strength to be 60,000 psi. Are we to ignore the Handbook's numbers?

Yes. It is a very old book. I only offered it because it is free and truss analysis is the same, the materials are different. New books are only current on materials for a while.
