I would like to test my solenoid winding to ensure the temperature index also to find the temperature at core point (not outer).

Can anyone suggest test procedure or share ASTM D2307 / IEC 60172

Test method for determination of thermal index of enamel coated copper winding wire

Thank you

Is this a liquid cooled solenoid?

What class rating of enamel coated wire?

A solenoid (in a sense) is a motor. The hottest portions of a motor are its innards.
The core will be the warmest as is the case with a shaft on a motor being the hottest portion of the machine.

Curious [somewhat] by the request. Are you looking for a "spec"... a standard... or a way to actually do something?

This is a air cooled solenoid coil used in pneumatics solenoid valve.

Construction as bobbin, copper winding, flux carrier, outer molding.

The insulation class are F and H.

I would like to find the temperature at inner portion of the copper winding.

Because the temperature index is specified for copper insulation.

I am looking for test method to ensure the temperature index of copper insulation.
