temperature of machining

Hello,

does any of you met drawing documentation which specifies temperature of workshop where machining proces is being realised?
it is about details made from aluminium

Of the workshop? Makes no sense, other than "worker efficiency". (OSHA-type local code maybe?)

Of the material before or after machining?
Temperature controls of the metal are often needed as it is being cut to avoid problems.

Sometimes specified in storage to prevent metalurgical issues, but that's very rare. We've had questions about ultra-high precision parts needing temperature control while machining to get within the tolerances: (Too hot overall and the dimensions change.)

Not machining as such but implicitly for inspection:

Unless otherwise specified, all dimensions are applicable at 20°C (68°F) Compensation may be made for measurements made at other temperatures.

Environmental control of inspection facilities is common practice in the aerospace industry. For some types of machine tools that must consistently maintain very tight tolerances (precision grinders, jig bore machines, or machines with integral digital inspection capability) it is necessary to maintain control of the environment the machine is calibrated at.

These manufacturing process controls are not usually specified on engineering drawings. The engineering drawing simply defines what is required in the finished product. It is manufacturing's responsibility to take whatever actions are necessary to produce a product that meets the requirements defined on the engineering drawing.

I was hoping for an opportunity to tell about watching orange-white chips fly off steel forgings being machined with carbide tools.
... but that will have to wait for another day.

Those chips burn arms and fingers and shoes when they land on un-protected flesh. A good reason to ALWAYS have full eye protection on BEFORE you go in the shop.

As mentioned above with tolerances plus calibrated measuring instrument must be within certain temperature limits.
