TEMA HEAT EXCHANGER - Expansion Joint

Hi,

Is it true that TEMA standards specify minimum length requirement for an expansion joint used on a shell of a (shell and tubes) heat exchanger?

PipMec, I am talking from memory here, but I don't believe TEMA (8th) specifices any minimum length for the joint, as such.

For a F&F joint there are some practical considerations though, that more or less dictate the radii and straight flanges used, and therefore the length of the joint.

ASME Sec VIII, Div 1, Appendix has rules about minimum radii, and lengths of straight flanges containing connections, such as for V & D.

For a bellows, you get what the manufacturer says you get
