I wrote seveal programs in Visual Basic which dial the telephone using MSComm. The instructions are:

comOne.CommPort = 3
comOne.Settings = "9600,N,8,1"
comOne.PortOpen = True
comOne.Output = "ATDT" & A$ & vbCr

This worked fine in Windows98 but get an 8012, "Port not Open" error in XP. The MSComm icon is also set to port 3.

How do I fix it?
