Teamcenter install on AIX5.3 failing

The install is failing when it tries to encrypt the ifodba users password. It seems to be looking for "pw-syscall" which is an "Oracle Kernel Extension for AIX". Why do I need Oracle extensions for a client install of Teamcenter?
