Taper Ratio

What would optimum taper ratio? I read somewhere 2:1, does that mean (exp. 14" root, 7" tip)and over what length? Just advice

You need more information that that to make any reasonable decision. Disc loading, power loading, RPM, forward velocity, Reynold's Number, Tip Mach speed...........
