Hi.

This is just a question because I am not a native speaker but I would like to know what is the meaning of to taper a pipe?? is it using a metallic drill bit to adjust the pipe?

Thanks a lot

What was the entire sentence that phrase is from?

To reduce in thickness toward one end. But, the meaning may depend on context. If so, answer 3DDave.

Good Luck,

Taper means reduce in a smooth manner.

That can be ID,OD or wall thickness.

So e.g. you have a pipe of 10mm thick and your cobweb pipe is 5mm thick, you can taper the 10mm to 5mm by machining a slope.

You usually need to machine it not drill it
