Does anyone have any desing examples or data for smaller tank foundations with no ringwall? All I seem to be able to find is ringwall examples.
Thanks

There has been many threads on this site dealing with tank foundations. Many like ringwalls - many (me included) don't think they are inherently necessary. I've been involved with many large and small tank foundations put on a gravel pad - some 3 m wider than the tank - topped with 1/4 inch crusher "dust" - tanks sat on it without problems. Of course, there will be situations where the pad needs to be wider than 3 m or so..

I'm a fan of ringwalls. But another method I've seen is to fabricate a steel ring, slightly larger than the tank, to contain the foundation. It's susceptable to damage, usually not round for very long, subject to washouts and corrodes. But the tanks seem to tolerate these just fine and I've seen pretty old ones sitting there without any problems.
