Folks,
Does ACI give any recommendations regarding placement of temperature and shrinkage reinforcement?

For example, if I have a deep pile cap or thick footing.....where do you place your T&S steel? I have often seen them being placed as a bottom mat. I recall reading somewhere or being referenced by someone that T&S steel should be placed closest to the tensile face, wherever that might be.

Any help?

T&S steel shall be placed at wherever shrinkage crack is a concern, or not desirable. The bottom mat in pile cap & footings are mainly for strength, though it would help to minimize the shrinkage cracks.
