Look at p. 19 of SDPWS of the NDS..

For horizontal lumber sheathing, values are really low..

thanks!

looks like diagonal decking is 6x better than horizontal decking.

now, AITC has allowable roof spans based on simple lay-up and controlled random lay-up for horiztonal pattern. for diagonal allowable spans, do you think it would be as simple as applying a 1.414 factor?

i.e. let's say a particular decking is good for 40 psf over 96" joist spacing with horizontal lay-up. to go diagonal and keep 40 psf you'd have to decrease joist spacing to 67" (96/1.414), or to keep 96" joist spacing the decking would only be good for 28 psf (40/1.414).

also, can controlled random lay-up even be used on a 45 degree?
