HI there,
I have made a research in old posts, unfortunately not finding the specific answer I’d need.
Following thread is quite interesting, nonetheless is not giving the complete answers
thread403-138316
My question refer to Ammonia and liquid overfeed cycles.
1 – which are the reasons why coolers utilized with ammonia are always utilized in liquid overfeed mode ? Is it something related to low liquid density of this refrigerant and the high latent heat if compared to others refrigerants ?
2 – why ammonia coolers have always bigger internal volume than coolers utilized with other refrigerants ?
3 – In DX systems the drop of pressure between condensing pressure and evaporating pressure is obtained with a TX valve. How is it obtained if liquid overfeed systems with NH3 ?

Many thanks for your help
