Synchronous timing belt/pulley interchangeability

Looking for a guide to belt manufacturer interchangeability...

Seems like Standard Trapazoidal and HTD profiles are the only "Standard" Profiles that many belt manufacturers make and can interchange belts with.

What belt manufacturers are discrete about is the newer curvilinear profiles. Some questions I have are following...

Can Gates GT2 belts be ran on HTD pulleys, and vise versa?
Can Gates GT2 belts be used with Carlyle RPP profiles and vise versa?
Can Carlyle RPP belts be ran with HTD pulleys and vise versa?

If there was just a nice chart that showed recommended interchangeability that would be nice!!

Each manufacturer is trying to lock you in to their stuff.
There are precedents, e.g. H-P inks vs. Epson printers, etc.

Select a standard, or select a vendor; that's your choice,

Try to find a distributor that handles both products and ask them or just order some from each product line. It's possible there's some advantage to one that isn't visible from the catalog, so it's not just a fishing expedition.
