SW2004 SP1 toolbox parts not obeying Smartmates 'Tab'

Help, my Toolbox parts are not behaving properly when dragging them into an assembly. They show the alternate positioning after pressing the tab key, but when dropped, align to the default orientation. This is getting really annoying.
