Hi Folks,

I have done some digging around on the topic of patterning fillets and am interested in learning more about other peoples' experiences.

Going back in the forums' archives I found one comment from Scott Baugh (which I tend to agree with):

"Fillets never have patterned or mirror correctly. What I do is, I just make one side, mirror all the features except the fillets, then add the fillets manually to boths sides."

Has anyone had any different experience with this? I am interested in comments from either side of the issue. As I mentioned, personally I have found that one should add fillets to their models at the bottom of the Feature Manager.

Thanks,

yes they can be patterned and they are better then they used to be... try use Geometry pattern when you do it. I have still seen times when it's not the best practice to pattern a fillet.

Right. I've had fillets pattern OK, too. This really depends on your type of model and whether the fillets may logically collide when patterned (other issues, too). In large patterns of uncolliding fillets, I pattern them.

Okay, I'm having a hard time though trying to get some moderately complicated fillet geometry to pattern. I did try using geometry pattern but SW didn't like that either.

The geometry is essentially a fan blade intersecting a hub. It looks like the only way to make this happen is by adding all the fillets at once.
