Surveyor referal websites

hello has anyone heard of such a site where a surveyor or surveying company can redgister and bid on jobs in the state of texas or in the US i have found one but looking for more sites if everyone helps everybody the world will be a better place

It is against Texas law (and also most other states)to "bid" for professional services such as surveying or engineering. You must submit your qualifications and wait to be selected. Another way to get work is to subcontract to companies that already have projects with the State.

Professionals are selected by qualifications and THEN a fee is negotiated. If not able to agree on a fee, the next most qualified firm is asked to submit a fee, etc.

 
I beg to differ. There was a humungous lawsuit some 10-12 years ago in which the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) ended up in a consent decree that outlawed their restriction on bidding for engineering services. It was considered "restraint of trade" by the U.S. Justice Department. It is now OK to bid for engineering services, of course the question you need to ask is, do you want your project designed by the low bidder?

The next question is, how do you determine someone's qualifications?
